The Norwood Green Town Plan will need to be supported by a number of evidence base studies to ensure it is robust and meets the requirements of an Examination by an independent inspector which must take place before our plan can be adopted and thus become a key consideration when development is being planned in the area.
Last year NPA secured special government funding to help us develop design ideas for our main opportunity sites: Lambeth Local Plan “Site 18”on Norwood Road ( B&Q etc.), Norwood High Street and the Business Area (“KIBA”).
This work has been carried out by AECOM the government appointed technical consultants
This technical support provides the NPA with information (evidence) and advice (professional judgement) to help the community decide on priorities and direction for the Neighbourhood Plan, to inform the drafting of policy, proposals and guidance on the design and planning of places, buildings and spaces and to enable NPA to engage effectively with stakeholders such as developers, Lambeth Council, local businesses and of course residents, who will have a vote on the draft Neighbourhood Plan at the referendum stage.
We now have the final report which we want to share widely with all stakeholders.
This document puts forward recommendations for everyone to consider but is by no means definitive in that it is a ‘high level’ analysis of the area and its potential, rather than a detailed set of proposals and plans. This document provides impartial technical support and explores possible policy directions to inform the NPA’s neighbourhood plan-making process and to inform discussions within the local community. It is not a blueprint for the Neighbourrhood Plan, but a starting point for discussion.
We welcome your views and also any support you can give towards the Norwood Green Town Plan preparation.
